Branford Road Race

I ran a 5-miler today. Father's Day, Linda's birthday and the First Day of Summer.

Yay!

Click Andie, Kathy, Linda and Maureen to see more pix.

PS - You can't tell but the guy behind Maureen is I think her husband. His shirt reads: "My wife is faster than yours."

Kids Art

Kids painted several pictures today, which I scanned and printed on transfer paper to decorate a t-shirt for their Poppa for Fathers Day. Their mom
took some pictures while the iron was on and we included one of the pictures of the kids on the front of the shirt with some of the artwork with rest of pictures on the back. Happy Fathers Day to all the kitty daddies out there.

Casper and "Friends"

In foreground, Casper seed I thought would never make it, obviously has!

In background, awesome sunflower!

Click the image for more "friends."

Any garden news / other news from DeeDee, BuBe or Max?

Two days till Linda's birthday, Father's Day, and, of course, the Summer Solstice!

As DeeDee would say ... Yay!!!!

Yanni Clip

This is a bit strange, I suppose, but what Yanni says struck me as a very powerful thing the other day when I was listening to an audio tape I have of his Yanni Live at the Acropolis concert. I tried to play it back repeatedly so as to transcribe the words to paper but had trouble getting them down.

Today I got smart. Why not put the tape in my boom box and take a video of it? So the video is really just so you can hear the message. I kept the camera going a bit past the part where he speaks. His music is very beautiful.

Here's the quote. A truly amazing observation.

"That everything great that has ever happened to humanity since the beginning, has begun with a single thought in someone's mind and if anyone of us is capable of such a great thought then all of us has the same capacity, capability, because we are all the same."

This and other Yanni quotes may be found at Yanni.

igPay atinLay

Since this blog is big on translation (for that is what "interpres" means in Latin), I could not resist telling you the following ...

LBrad's (that would be "my better half's") friend and former boss sent me a link on Monday that eventually generated this response. First, the link:

Bill Tribou and Bob Davidson

Friends of mine, Bill and Bob are two good reasons I *know* running is what I want to do forever.

2 out of 3 Caspers up!

I just got back from watering the garden and found two out of the three Casper seeds have germinated! Just goes to show, ya gotta have faith. And patience! No sign of life yet from the five seeds I planted in the peat pellets. But it's early.

seeds arrived / planted

I got the seeds yesterday. Thanks a lot. I just placed 1 of each (except the "extra credit" two-little-girls-on-package pumpkins and the sunflower seeds) in peat pellets and put them in a sunny window in the kitchen. It will be interesting to see "who" makes it. I will, of course, keep you and the Interpres gang current as they, hopefully, germinate and then grow into beautiful pumpkins!

More Seeds for Tinyc from Max

This image only tells part of the story. It is not known at this point if this will be an important seed. Tinyc will eventually let us know what he decides to grow to replace ALL of the Casper seeds he tried to plant. Mine never germinated either. There still seems to be time to plant. Good luck to all of us!
