she's a beautiful filly. I watched the race, too. Sorry things are "quiet on this end" because my life isn't. Barely get time every few days to check here. Thanks for keeping things "alive" here, TcT, as busy as you are! BuBe.

I have been wondering if anybody has planted pumpkins yet. How are they coming along?

possible frost tonight?? covered everything I could that was in the ground, hauled all my potted seeds and plants into the shed for the night. Sunk a couple of things into the nice warm compost pile. No pumpkins planted here this year, but I think Emma is planting her pumpkins directly into the ground sometime this week at her plot in Suffield. Hope no one loses anything to Jack Frost tonight.

I think I remember being told last year that Memorial Day was a good rule of thumb for planting things in the ground. I don't remember where I heard that though.

I am tempted to plant a pumpkin outside at some point, but I am also remembering all of the critters out in the field. The slugs and the ground hogs. And carrying all of the water. So we'll see.

I did hear some news that our property management company is going to be building a community garden out there somewhere. I guess there are some water lines out where they are going to build it. But it isn't in the budget for this year I don't think, it has to wait until next year.
