what a gorgeous orchid!! Maybe you could grow something outside in a hanging bag type of planter, hanging it from a long hook from your gutter or from a shephards hook on a sunny side of your apartment?? Maybe a window box? Not sure if your landlord will let you do those things. I have seen some indoor herb garden boxes - kind of pricey, but if you are desperate to grow something, you can probably find one at a local nursery/agway, etc. Maybe even Whole Foods has something like that and Mike can get it at discount??
