The Inauguration

It was crazy, but we made it! We walked 4.5 miles each way, waited in line for 2.5 hours, but it ws worth it. I have posted some pictures and comments here. I am pooped, I am going to bed, and it's only 7:30! We are leaving DC at 6:00 AM tomorrow to beat the traffic, it will be good to get home.

PS from Tobee: I zure wiyill bee glad whin Amee gitz bak tumurro!

This'll be brief but I just wanted to thank you for somehow finding the time (and the computer) to tell us how it all went. You must be very tired but I am sure you are glad you went. A great day in America's history and you participated.

Today was a bit of an inauguration for me on a personal level as well. I interviewed for a math tutoring position at Tunxis Community College in Farmington and am very hopeful they might hire me.

So, a new day for America and a new job for me (fingers crossed).

The countdown is now a countup and it all starts now.

Good luck with your job!

Upon closer inspection of my pictures, and looking at pictures in the newspaper, I can see that the podium/stage where Obama was visible from where we were standing. It is very hard to distinguish from the bleachers that were set up on either side.

It will take me a while to read all of the posts since I've been gone, there are quite a few!

Wow TcT, that is great that you might share some of your math skills and more importantly, your enthusiasm for it all with Tunix CC students. Hope it works for you! The tutees will be the lucky ones!

I have my fingers crossed, Tinyc. It's great to hear you've interviewed for this position. Being a "c" student of yours already, I would be the first to say there is a good chance (if you get the job) that your "c" students will become 'A' "c" students. And if they are not "c" student, then I can still "see" them becoming "A" students in any other mathematical setting with you. Best of luck to you bro!
