Let's be a little clearer on this.

How 'bout A LOT CLEARER on this!

Click the link and pick Save to Disk.

Then, using Firefox's menu, click File / Open File and then navigate to the .xpi file you just saved to disk.

You should then get a dialog box with an Install button on it. Click this button.

Hmmm - I guess I should be more careful when I make bets. Right now, I have no clue. I'm running FF 3.0.3 but I expect 3.0 should be fine. It's working for me on both my Windows laptop and on my Linux desktop. When you click Tools / Add-ons, I assume you see SiteLeds 0.1 in the list, right? If not, this would explain it and you would have to try the installation again. If you do have it installed, I'll have to think some more.

Yes, I have tried installing it about 3 times, but it never works :-(

I have changed the little "leds" this extension uses cuz I didn't like the ones I originally built. They are now based on some clipart I found of a halloween cat.

In order to upgrade to the better "leds," uninstall the SiteLeds (aka SiteTobee) extension, then follow the method described in the original post (and hopefully clarified in the comments that follow). NB - Amy had to click the Enable button in the Tools / Add-ons dialog box to get it to work, so this might need to be done.
